Forgotten Remembrance

Tue, 11/12/2013 - 12:47 -- Bcniemi

Photographs on a table,

People captured in frames,

Frozen in time for all to see.

Goofy grins, funny faces, gestures for Remembrance.

Our masks proudly portrayed,

Is this the remembered?

Or the forgotten feelings of friends long past?

Observing time as we fly.

Seconds become hours become years

Memories are flowers wilting from the wear.

Faces in the background fade to grey

After focusing so sharply on the people in the front.

The ones on the side become faceless.

Everyone is important. Do you remember them?

Remembering that you've forgotten,

Forgetting the remembered.

Friends gone, lost in a corner of our everchanging minds.
