To Forget

Lines on my arms,
mark the hurt I've felt,
the blood that was spilled.

Scars lined up,
showing lessons learned,
a testimony made.

Carved cuts faded,
of a past filled with pain
in which hope and Love came out.

And although the pain taught me lessons,
showed me God's mercy and love,
gave me awareness...

It also left me painful memories,
traumatizing fears...
Sometimes keeping me from giving it my all,
from letting people in...
Sometimes I just want to forget.
