Forever

She's by herself,
looking to the pictures on the shelf.
What happened to her love,
what happened to her life?
She used to think it shined so bright.
Now she knows he held the light.

He sits alone,
holding his phone.
Not knowing if he should call,
if he should try at all.
She was his everything,
she was the song he loved to sing.
He wished she knew how much she could mean,
if only she'd seen what he's seen.

She looks at him from across the room,
plotting her impending doom.
She wants to speak, she feels weak.
What if he sees she loves him so?

He walks across the floor,
opening the door.
Her heart lies inside,
as his stomach runs to hide.

She looks into his eyes,
all her fears subside.
She knows that they will forever be.
She and he.

Forever.
He and she.
