Food by Darius Simmons

Location

Food

We eat it

We need it

Is it a necessity?

Or is it less to be

As we crave it day and night

Our stomachs choose not to fight

But as we consume what most of us call love

It entices us like a star above

My stomach is bulging

As I continue to eat

Am I hungry?

Or is my mind sending signals of deceit

As I chew and chew

The greatness of food

My conscience tends to intrude

With horrifying thoughts of me being greedy

My tummy tends to be needy
