A Flower for Your Tombstone

Through your death I listen to your low call
Outbursts water from one’s Iris drowning
I hear noise and words of wisdom still stall
You call them as if you knew their longing
Memories of your lullabies owning
Listen to lonely night shadows falling
Love then known, Love now known, Love be knowing
Tumor by tumor made your death longing
You picked up your cross and tumbled down hill.
Still, I wait with lilies by your tombstone
Then I retreat with fear to Window’s sill
Left in your grave: decaying skin and bone
They say that true love’s kiss will break death’s spell
Calvary’s no fairytale, I live Hell
