Flicker

The light flickers once more.

It lets the darkness overpower for a brief moment.

In that brief moment

Someone dies

Someone is born

Someone cries

Someone laughs

Someone wake up

Someone falls asleep

The light flickers once more.

It lets the light the overpower the darkness.

In the light

A shadow is cast

It follows me

It moves when I do

It won’t leave me alone

It lives in the darkest parts

It writhers as I put more light onto it

The light flickers once more.

All is dark for good.

It swallows me whole

The light has been destroyed

Only so many times can you flicker

A bit of light before completely burning out
