Flawless Poem

We focus on the wrong things,

Things that make you feel like

I am not good enough

Unworthy feelings…

Tell them to take wings

Flawlessness?

What is the test

It is the view of value

Not what I do, clothes I wear, my hair or make-up I do

Where is importance

Something needs to change because something is strange

Is it my looks, no

I look in the mirror, the mirror of my soul

I am worthy of respect and admiration

Get my value in loving me

It is not what you see or who you can be

The value is in my belief

In this world it comes as a relief

loving myself as I love others

Seeing people as a Sister or Brother

My view of value

Comes from within and not without

What I have to hold onto

Love is my view of value

As I am loved, and I love myself, then others too

Generate self worth internally

Someone loves me

Just for whom I am, this is my faith

I can state my case

In a flawless test, I fail

What if that is not the standard

But a belief in one word…love.

Love from in, around, out and above.

A love unconditionally, it is for me.
