Flawed

Proverbs 3:7-8 New English Translation (NET Bible)

Do not be wise in your own estimation;
fear the Lord and turn away from evil.
8 This will bring healing to your body,
and refreshment to your inner self.

Flawed

Now I’m here and then I’m gone, hidden deep in self

Calling this reality to my own shame

Once alive now dried to the bone on a dusty shelf

Losing all true quality in a wasted game

Once my path was lighted and now filled with shadows

Of what could have been so really glorious

Now short-sighted lost in pity and self-induced sorrow

For day to day I am known to be notorious

Trickled down pity in search of victory

Leaning on thoughts what could have been

Not really too pretty this selfish misery

That I bought at the expense of all around me

Hungering for success while the eyes are dimming

Years gone by are now long forgotten

Life is just a mess in this world of “gimme”

As true nature cries cause all seems slowly rotting

Blind of eyes and deaf in ears possibly not too bad

How can one absorb all pain and keep sanity

Maybe through all the years the thought of being sad

Will give wisdom to a few to gain throughout Eternity
