Fish not worth the eating ...

Ecclesiastes 9:12

12 Surely, no one knows his appointed time! Like fish that are caught in a deadly net, and like birds that are caught in a snare— just like them, all people are ensnared at an unfortunate time that falls upon them suddenly.

Fish not worth eating

Somewhere in the ocean ... is a fish like me

Resting in the mud ... waiting for a meal

Moving now and then ... to attract the free

Who wallow here ... without too much appeal

Somewhere in the deep ... a search for satisfaction

Easily found at times ... but always moving on

Many scrapes and scars ... are on its outer-side

From the claws of us ... who are trying to hang on

Sometimes at the surface ... we float of as off-white scum

Polluting the surrounding ... with our helpless cause

Driven by winds of time ... until we hit the beaches

To be left there as a vapor ... to disappear in trackless sand
