Find time for God
Location
I knelt to pray but not for long,
I had too much to do.
I had to hurry and get to work
For bills would soon be due.
So I knelt and said a hurried prayer,
And jumped up off my knees.
My Christian duty was now done
My soul could rest at ease
All day long I had no time
To spread a word of cheer
No time to speak of Christ to friends,
They'd laugh at me I'd fear.
No time, no time, too much to do,
That was my constant cry,
No time to give to souls in need
But at last the time, the time to die
I went before the Lord,
I came, I stood with downcast eyes.
For in his hands God! Held a book;
It was the book of life.
God looked into his book and said
"Your name I cannot find
I once was going to write it down
But never found the time"

this is really incredible and convicting, especially in how we live today with our schedules always full. really great.

God looked into his book and said
"Your name I cannot find
I once was going to write it down
But never found the time"
these last few lines blew my head away
always put god in your life and heart regardless of what people say or what you are doing
find time for god
keep writing
That was really great, poetry-wise and as a reminder of what's important in this life.
I'm glad to see others writing about God. :)

This is beautiful!
This is a wonderful poem, and it gets across what I believe most of us fear to actually say ourselves. It's funny, I was thinking about this in church this morning and realized we often only find time for God once a week when we are going to church on Sundays. Being Christian is not a part-time job.

That was beautiful and Amazing. The last few lines really blew me away.
You addressed a common problem that many seem to encounter on a daily basis... No matter how busy and hectic life becomes never put aside God. Beautiful poem and beautiful message.

The last sentence just hit me hard. Who are we to ignore and push God away, when He has given everything to us? Regret and sorrow now fills me because I should be dwelling in the Word, yet I don't. Thank you for writing this because I believe God has placed this very poem into my life at this very moment.
God Bless brother

THIS:
God looked into his book and said
"Your name I cannot find
I once was going to write it down
But never found the time"
So busy with everything in my life. I'm always reminding myself every Saturday that I should be attending church the next day but something always comes up and I always never end up going. And so the process begins again, every week. I am so deeply moved by the ending...
Thank you...

Wow, so sad how much this poem fits modern Christian life. It challenges us to cast aside our excuses and remember that it is The Lord we are living for. Thank you for this!
