Finally, a Light

Fri, 04/09/2021 - 12:17 -- Weirdo

I feel cornered at every possible turn

Maybe there is a light at the end of this vast tunnel

A light that can save me, and help me learn,

From all of my mistakes

That I so greatly concerned

I am screaming through tears now,

I hear my breaking voice as it shreakes

“IT WOULDN'T BE MUCH THAT I WOULD TAKE”

Now I here a small echo, then a deep low growl

I listen for the beasts as they awake

They narrow the tunnel

As their large paws shake

The walls.

Now I am not trembling in pain, but in fear

And it is me that they try to call

They want me to come to them,

I feel a trickle down my cheek, it is but my last tear.

I see a light, finally a friend

They are so pure, so bright.

They blind my eyes,

Almost ruining my sight.

And taking away all my fright

They fight off the beasts with all their might,

And bring me back to a world

That finally feels right.

And I twirl

As I fly a colorful kite,

And recover from the memories

Of the dark.
