Fights

A dark night

Cars speeding as they pass by

The night howls with a full moon shining bright

Covering the streets with a fluorescent light

The night is silent

No more fights

People sleeping peacefully tonight.

Walking home with no fear,

Fills my eyes with happy tears

Is it possible for a change?

Or will the violence still remain?

You turn the corner and you see is red and blue lights.

Sirens going off left to right.

What happened? Did the silence end?

We’ve done it again

Giving ugly looks as we pass by,

The violence has struck us again.

Why can’t we open our eyes and see this is not peace,

This here is what God calls Ugly.

Consumed by fire, we forget our true desires.
