The Field
Location
I know somewhere there is a place,
Where the pain in my heart can fade,
Somewhere due west with just the push,
That I might make it there some day.
I know somewhere in that field,
There is a place where I would rest.
A place to lay that’s filled with hay.
To scare away the stress.
And as I lay in that hay
My mind will soon be clear.
The feelings that left my body,
Soon would reappear.
I would hear the flowers blossom,
I would taste the rays of the sun,
I would feel my blood pumping,
As if I was about to run.
The songs of the birds would call to me,
Like little whispers in my ear,
“Come join us for a dance or two,
There is nothing for you to fear.”
All day I would find myself laughing,
Until I felt as if I would cry,
And if I was to feel as to cry,
I would cry all day, till my eyes were dry.
Because somewhere is a field,
Where the pain in my heart can fade,
I’ll strive to find myself away,
To make it there some day.
