Where is my “Home”

Home is a place where;

Well I guess when you feel

More comfort, more happiness

I don’t know

My dads house is home

Well not really, I live…

With my mom but;

Okay look!

Back when I was 3

I thought his house was a MANSION

A big house right at the corner of the block

Every weekend I would smell fresh cut grass

When you walk inside there are a flight of stairs

They seemed never ending to me

Ha! Like the stairs that lead to the gates of heaven

A living room with joy and laughter

Yep! That’s the fellowship room

Next you have the kitchen

Mmmmm, my fav room in the house

I already knew my step mom would be there

I smelled her cooking

She’d say “Hey Sweetie Boo”

You can imagine, I couldn’t wait til dinner

Oh boy here comes the awful stairs

Fuzzy step by fuzzy step

“Oh no don’t look down”

My brother would say to scare me

Now you have one of the cleanest bathrooms

I have ever seen

Pure white bathtub and gorgeous tile

It was like a luxurious hotel

Turn to your left

You now have my dads room

Huge bed, so big that if I was 3

There was no way I would be getting up there all by myself

The best bed in the house to jump on

All you’d hear is little girlish giggles

But of course there is my sister’s room

So many memories of my childhood

Barbie’s, Bratz, Baby dolls, oh

And the big head girl with lots of hair

To play with, she was my favorite

This is the place

I am most comfortable

Most happy

Now this, this right here is my home
