Feeling warm in the snow

My friends and I lived in Louisiana,
The temp is high, December in shorts flies.
But when it's actually cold outside; But still no snow resides, it's no fun.
I see everyone trapped inside a compilation of these shirts and coats resisting cold.
The heat's blasted to an inferno as there's always steaming hot coffee on hold
I travel to the north watching the green earth disappear into white as I grow close-
Though I shiver losing heat I quiver in excitement as my breath becomes a smoke when I blow...

Heavy snow
Like blankets fold
Far coating many lands and mold
A frozen location filling my heart with frozen joy

Draw my hood, it's thin but thick enough for me.
At home for Christmas was the place to be
Hey Pierrot, come with us to see the tree downtown;
After dinner it's back outside to have a snow war
Build up fort and make your ammo, put on armor, let's go!
In the end, after calling truce and making snowmen
I'm back at my home relaxing in the cold

It's time to go back--sad but true
The smoke from my breath once again hides it's presence
So I will go to my other home where it's hot
To wait for cold to come back.
