Feelin' Good

A dark day, mangled with fear

My pale face being framed by a long trail of tears

I failed my quiz, and I crashed my car

I hurt my sister, and I lied to mom

But I know the pain’s over when I open the door

I’m greeted by a friend, who stands on all fours

I kneel down to pet her, and she licks my face

That’s when I become glad, and the despair goes away

Her love never falters, her loyalty never fades

It matters not what I’ve done, for she’ll love me the same
