Feathers

Psalm 96:1-2 Sing to the Lord a new song!
Sing to the Lord, all the earth!
2 Sing to the Lord! Praise his name!
Announce every day how he delivers!
  Feathers

The sun came up and you chirped away

to wake the living and to rejoice in life.

You prepared the surroundings for the day.

as you sang in trance at the rays of light

The Lord provides as you pray in song

praises to the Lord of  Glory your true friend.

Then you spread your wings and took up flight

to gather for family their daily bread.

In a world of plenty you filled your need

to provide for the young at home.

And for your spouse who cared for them

and always gave you time to roam.

You’re so involved in Search through plenty

up and down you move in flight.

Through God’s given ability

everything today seems just right.

A car that came out of nowhere

a strange thing not made by God.

It is so fast you can’t escape it

I was not made for that. Oh, God!

A quick hit and feathers fly

the car is just rambling on.

At the nest the spouse is waiting

not knowing that her friend is gone.
