Father (RIP 3/5/13)

Sun, 09/23/2018 - 22:39 -- J2Phi

I used to have a father

Who would call me "ba-ba".

I used to have a father

Who said I couldn't "la-la"

I used to have a father

Who was an excellent role model

I used to have a father

Who if wasn't sure about something, his hand would just wobble

I used to have a father

Who could do many things

But now I have a father

Who has many gold rings

Now I have a father

Who is rich beyond compare

And now I have a father

Who has really nice clothes to wear

Now I have a father

Who can always see the sun

And doesn't have to take no stuff

From anything or anyone

Now I have a father

Who is finally with his father

And they live as happy as can be

But the only thing

That downs all these things

Is what he looks down and sees

He sees crying

He sees sighing

He sees sadness

He seems madness

Yet the only thing he wants to see

Is all of us, smiling at the memories

He knows it's hard

But this is how it went

I know he wished that this event

Happened later in time

So we could easily admit

That he had a good run

And a life well spent

But we know he's okay

He's made a new friend

We all know who it is

But I love to say his name

Jesus...

And one day

He'll be our friend, too.
