fate

Fate, she began
What an extremely simple thing
With all its complexities and intricate intrigues
We attempt to control it
With iron bars
And air tight capsules
But it slips away like the wind
And escapes our grasp like time
Leaving us empty
Without understanding
And with fear
(But with some there is hope
And some others, arrogance)
Fate
So quickly it acts
With such a spontaneity that it must have been preplanned
Snuffing out lives
Altering and creating others
Like so much smoke
Infinite, curling and twisting and floating through time
Unaware of their quickly fading existence
If only I knew, she finished, how to escape it
