Farewell to the World

Nails painted black and chipping
Bitten to the stub and bleeding
My mind begins a quiet race
In my chest my heart quickness pace
I want to get up and start my life
Trying to flee from all this strife
Running only hurts me more
The pain cuts me down to my core
I know one day I will be okay
But right now I don't know what to say
Trying just to keep my balance
Falling during this graceful dance
Screaming and kicking at my door
My feet slip as I hit the floor
The ground offers a cold embrace
Blood flows beautiful as lace
Pain rushes through like a river
The room gets cold, I begin to shiver
I close my eyes and welcome the silence
Suddenly everything seems to make sense
