Family Ties

The loving uncle said of his nephew upon a qualm:
“He is worthless and unworthy, but it is largely my fault.”
For he had shamed the family; to his uncle, a cause for assault.
“I have indulged him in his hurt,” he said, trying to stay calm.
He could not stand for tradition to be broken,
So to his darling boy, many harsh words were spoken.
Soon though, his sweet nephew would bring his heartbeat to a halt.
