Family Pride

My biggest inspiration is my mom and dad

I am about to brag about them and I will not feel bad.

My dad has been a firefighter, 2019 is his 20th year

making sure city is safe and there are no dangers near.

My mom is a nurse, helping patients in need

how she can work in a hospital all day is beyond me.

We live in a nice house in the Sunshine State

due to my parents' hardwork which is no debate.

Clothes on my back, shoes on my feet

and my parents' home cooking that I love to eat.

Living the good life as the days go

you probably would not have thought that my parents are from the ghetto.

Both of their moms were single and fairly poor

often being forced to move out and go door-to-door.

In their teen years my parents worked at retail stores

until they got together and my mom had a child to bore.

Two black young adults about to raise a child

being poor and having part time jobs with a kid would be wild.

So they change their ways and did want needed to be done

to make sure that a good life would form for their son.

For that, I thank them forever

and they encourage me each day to do whatever I do better.

My parents inspire me to be something great until the day I die

and I want to make them happy because I have our family pride.
