Falling in Love

I'm falling in love and, quite frankly, I don't want to be

I don't want to remember your favorite color is a shade of blue when the sun is shining bright and there's not a cloud in sight

I don't want to remember how you fall asleep best when the rain is hitting your window

I don't want to remember how much I enjoy listening to you sing

I don't want to remember how you pull me in close

I don't want to remember how my heart skips a beat when you look at me

The worst part is falling in love, is falling out of love

I’ll never be able to enjoy another sunny day without thinking of you

I’ll never be able to fall asleep to rain

I’ll never hear a song without hearing you singing along

I’ll never be able to be close to someone without thinking of you

I’ll never be able to look at someone without seeing you

Because in the end, I know the best thing for us is to move on

You’ll be able to see dogs without thinking of my joyous smile

You’ll be able to relax in nature without thinking of my free spirit

You’ll be able to watch movies without hearing my laugh

You’ll be able to sleep at night without missing the weight of my head on your shoulder

In any situation, I know you’ll be able to find someone

I know you’ll find someone worthy of your time

I may be the girl, but for now, I’m unable to withstand the pain and constant prying thoughts of the aftermath when you say you don’t love me
