The Fall of Camelot: She's a Girl with the Best Intentions

Mon, 05/20/2013 - 19:14 -- edultz

Full of laughter, loath to frown,
Yet still the walls come tumbling down.
It seems there’s more to keeping still
Than forced smiles and force of will.

Feather-light and lightning-fast,
His touches bring her down at last.
Guilty and dissatisfied
Yet scared as well, she hides in lies.

She feels so far, yet he’s so near;
All she wants is to be held dear.
Hand to waist and palm to palm,
Nerves stretch into bands of calm.

Arthur looks but doesn’t see
As Guin bites fruit of knowledge’s Tree.
She runs to Arthur, holds him tight,
And time smoothes over guilt and fright.

His faithlessness found, he didn’t stay—
So she was left, come what may.
Her other king tried but never knew
That women need some passion too.

Guin’s a girl who tried too hard,
Whose tiny crack made jagged shards.
Heartbeat triumphed over mind’s sound,
And still the walls came tumbling down.
