Failure ...

Luke 10:40-42

40 But Martha was distracted with much serving, and she approached Him and said, “Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Therefore tell her to help me.”

41 And Jesus answered and said to her, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things. 42 But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her.”

Failure

Oh! my son, you work so hard,

you’re distracted by much serving.

Why do you crave works so much

and are governed by outward matter?

Can’t you fulfill God’s orders quietly

without drawing attention

to yourself and the works

as the Lord gets lost in the latter.

Confusion causes unrest, you know

and never seeks the will of God.

You labor according to your ideas

for carnality craves works.

You fight a losing battle somehow

and as long as you are busy

you won’t see the trees for the forest

and in vain your “will” will perk.

If you can’t stand the heat, you know

get out of the kitchen.

Well maybe it is on fire

burning to the ground.

To give your body a sacrifice

is totally unasked for

for if there is no emphathy

your works are a failure bound.
