Fade Away

It was in her younger years,

When she saw her parents fears.

Her sister would be gone,

Then the police would appear.

She was too young to see,

That there was a problem here.

“Watching fights was the usual for me,”

She’d get scared and run out of there.

Time after time,

Day after day,

Things kept getting worse,

Anybody could say.

Less often did she see her sister.

and that started to make her curious.

She would ask her parents where she went,

But they said she wouldn’t get it,

As she grew older she would get furious.

Time after time,

Day after day,

Things kept getting worse,

Anybody could say.

Fights began tearing their family apart,

The hospitals didn’t help anymore.

It seemed like her sister had no heart,

She was cold down to the core

As time continued, and years went on,

She felt like she was conned,

all the efforts that she made,

no longer made a difference,

For now her sister was just a faint memory.
