In the face of my curse, a journey of reflection

"In the shadows of illusions, I wandered astray,
Lost in the darkness, seeking solace to allay
The ache in my heart, the burden on my soul.
Each sip brought numbness but left an empty hole.

Chasing fleeting happiness in a bottle's disguise,
Yearning for peace, but met with bitter lies.
The connection I craved was but a mirage,
Caught in a web of confusion and self-sabotage.

Expecting grace, finding only deceit,
Masking my pain, hiding my defeat.
Dreaming of warmth, but met with cold emptiness,
Alcohol's lullaby leads to loneliness.

Seeking courage in liquid flames, a fragile facade,
Strength slipping away, leaving me flawed.
Yearning for calm, but drowning in unrest.
Tremors of doubt shook me, putting me to the test.

Drinking for bravery, consumed by fear's reign,
Longing for confidence, but it's all in vain.
Searching for solace, lost in the swirling storm.
Trapped in the devil's sin, feeling torn.

Through love or hate, I'm just an imperfect man,
Battling my demons to find salvation's plan.
At the Creator's gates, seeking redemption,
In the face of my curse, a journey of reflection."
