The Eyes Will Tell

Location

When you see me
You see a loner-
Unafraid and uncaring.
The shadows aren't showing.

When you look in my eyes
You find only blankness.
Yet you can tell it is only a cover
So others won't see.

You ignore all the signs-
Taunt me for my ways.
Why wouldn't I tell someone?
Why can no one else see?

Maybe it is an illusion within an illusion.
A reflection of the self you too are hiding?
Asking of yourself the same you do me-
Why can no one else see?

For the self-control we keep
You call me cold - a rock.
Yet we're so weak.
And only our eyes will tell.
