Eye of the Storm

The Storm raged in the quiet of the eve:

Lights flashing,

Puddles splashing,

And she thought of You.

Clouds exquisitely beating against each other;

Nothing left to fill,

Surrounding air stood still,

And she thought of You.

Clatters and shatters of rain tore the window frame until darkness showed only through once

she padlocked the pane,

Subconsciously misting the rain.

And she thought of You.

Showers of tears scattered the flash-filled heavens as rumbles echoed their way through sound.

Flooding the haven

she’d grown to be safe in.

And she thought of You.

she listened to the hurricane, twirling, tumbling….stirring the cloud’s colors dark

Gray and blue,

Together she knew,

Though, she thought of You.

Lightning speared the sky’s serenity, shards of broken sky spilt faster than she could count

Rubble dirty and dank-

The sky’s residual dust that sank,

Yet, she thought of You.

Remains of the sky pulled a tear from her eye, she listened to the sound of it plummeting down,

Past the window and pane,

Through the ground where the rain

Resides, and she thought of You.

Calm of the storm was upon her, wind, sky, clouds, rain, lightning, no longer in turmoil.

The peace was made,

The battle swayed

So, She thought of you.
