The Eye of the Storm

My silence draws you closer to me

Than my words ever could

For in my silence you can place your own words on my lips

And hear what your heart desires.

It is calming like the eye of a storm

Though you know the worst is yet to come.

Your words push me away

They are cold and violent like the sea during the storm

There is nothing left to my imagination

Because the intent of every word spoken washes over me in waves

And yet I am drawn in by the current

For there is no eye, without a storm.
