Expression 2

Galatians 6:7-8          New English Translation

7 Do not be deceived. God will not be made a fool. For a person will reap what he sows, 8 because the person who sows to his own flesh will reap corruption from the flesh, but the one who sows to the Spirit will reap eternal life from the Spirit.

Expression 2

Our will stands on its own, but on what foundation?

It gets bombarded from all sides and clearly sees its foes

Its friends are camouflaged like it for that is truly natural

The foe it sees is not like it, in completely in different clothes

It is a foe who dresses in white, his fake purity just glitters

Against a background of black and grey, it seems a blinding light

When I close my eyesThe foe is gone, so I fight my own blindness

Against a foe that I can’t see with the powers of darkness on his side

I am what I desire and what I am willing for

This is my heart defined for everyone to know

I cannot hide this fact, for it is written in my actions

And I can’t stop this movement until I reach my goal

The goal will get more clouded the more I compromise

And the goal will keep on growing until it possesses me

As I am rendered helpless overtaken by my own desires

Until my mind is reprobate, and my demise feels like being free

The world calls me a natural like it is a complement

And God sees me as a poor lost soul not recognizing the truth

And Satan has a hay day as he elevates folk like me

To positions of leadership for there is nothing left to lose

The end of the day is here now before the day begins

Darkness rules the world, although God can overrule

One thing seems for sure as we reap what we have sowed

And as we slurp that poison, it seems never enough, and full
