Expectations

I was bigger, I was stronger, I was supposed to be the best. I was smarter, I was wiser, I was supposed to be the best. I was funnier, I was gayer, I was supposed to be the best. I was cuter, I was prettier, I was supposed to be the best. I am me and nothing more. That is the best.

Not expectation but acceptance. Be happy life is too short.

Considering you used "supposed" throughout the poem it suggests that you are not, so the optimistic twist at the end is really enjoyable :)
