Expectations

What do you want from me?

Am I not good enough?

Am I a dissapointment?

A mess that needs to be cleaned up?

The perfect student

Straight A's and clubs

With just enough volunteer hours

So that colleges will love me.

No time to fall apart,

To cry and break down,

To wish for a different life,

I'm supposed to be better than that

For my life is built on expectations, and I must fullfil them

Be who they want me to be

Even if it kills me

Because it's all that is expected of me.

This was a wonderful poem it expresses a lot of students today who work their tales off but still teachers as well as parents/guardians expect more from them.
