Here on this broken ground I stand,
Flipping through the pages of history books.
I see evidence of God's loving hands,
Over a land that God they forsook.
America the beautiful,
Or at least it was before.
But now of hate and anger it is full,
It has begun to rot to its very core.
Girls obsessed with how they look,
Boys flipping through pages they should avoid.
Pain is hidden in every heart's nook,
Feelings mixed with facts creating a void.
A void that will consume every soul,
Cause them to believe that they will never be good enough.
Why can't we realize our greater role,
Why are we consumed with getting more 'stuff'?
It is our job to bring up the next generation,
Yet we have already lead them to believe
That they are destined for damnation,
They believe that they can't achieve.
So remember to love,
Even when you believe it is not due.
Remember that it is a feeling unknown to some,
They don't even have a clue.
Everything that has been broken,
Can be made new.
Truer words have never been spoken,
Because America, that means you.
