Every Now And Then

As I wipe away the tears,

And look at the sky,

I take a deep breath,

And ask myself why.

If I can turn back the hands,

I surely would if I can.

I'd play with you more,

Than just every now and then.

My body freezes,

As I remember the day,

When a car flew by and took you away.

My tears poured out,

Like ink from a pen.

I wish I played with you more,

Than just every now and then.

You were my sister,

My joy my life,

Although it has been hidden,

With so much ignorance and strife.

If I can turn back the hands,

I surely would if I can.

I'd play with you more,

Than just every now and then.

And as I wipe away the tears,

And look at the sky,

I discovered a new thought,

That took years to pry.

Appreciate what you have,

Whenever you can,

Because death comes knocking,

Every now and then.
