Everlasting Warmth

Coldness burns and sinks its teeth

Into the reddened skin

The trek up to the rocky peak

Had gone to Hell again

As darkness slowly swallows

Bringing its frigid night

The people, silent, pray for warmth

No shelter lay in sight

Endless sleep engulfs them

False heat radiates

Pupils stare like stony gems

Hiker’s frozen fate.
