Even the smile is empty
It no longer has meaning
Suffocating in the world
Struggling for each breath
He dives deeper trying to save others
Even though he's the one in distress
Only a few know his pain
The wounds embedded in his mind
Silent pleas for help are all that escape
His emotions bottled and lost
Yet he gives more of himself away
He knows where the light doesn't touch
He's lived there most of his life
Straddling the line not sure unto which side to cross
But now he's become more lost
A hole is his safe haven
He stays there waiting for the sun
He slept and missed the sun that then set
Again and again until the shadow crept
He waits no more the darkness has claimed him forever more.
