eulogy
Eulogy at the funeral of our National Sovereignty while the black cloud of crisis is descending upon the darkening horizon.
Spreading paranoia is not the sole intention of this article nor the dissemination of a prophetic message but for the purpose of educating the readers regardless of their respective political leanings.
It has been known for quite some time that the current President is a very compassionate leader yet he is surrounded by corrupt oligarchs ( Pro – China businessmen and banana planters ) who are undeniably taking advantage of his leadership in pursuit of their selfish vested interest at the expense of the interest of the Filipinos. The President’s deeper sense of gratitude is his vital weakness in the refusal of heeding the demand of these oligarchs ( financiers during the election campaign) in establishing a bilateral trade pact with China to further enrich themselves and therefore we are going back to crony capitalism.
It is my dream for this administration to succeed since I campaigned for him for free 1) because he is the best President that we ever have ,2) because we fall on the same ideological category at the leftist side of the political spectrum , 3) because of an ambitious goal of reaching national industrialization through the implementation of the Genuine Agrarian Reform Program , 4) because he is capable of cleansing our society from the menace of crimes due to the proliferation of drugs 5) because he aspires of establishing a just and peaceful society and 6) because is a patriotic leader who can uphold our sovereignty and protect our territorial claims in the islands we had lost to China’s aggressive invasion but I oppose the current administration’s inclination of forging bilateral trade pact with China since it contradicts the essence of the goals of his Government. If the bilateral trade pact will be concluded then his promises will never be fulfilled but will forever remain but dreams.
1)Mr. President, your administration is currently at war against drugs – claiming more than 3,300 lives and the death toll is still soaring rapidly - but you are more inclined of cementing stronger ties with China which has been known globally as the biggest supplier of SHABU since trafficking of the synthetic methamphetamine hydrochloride is its growth engine for the sustenance of its unprecedented economic growth exceeding the economic growth of the Western Industrialized Countries. Bilateral trade ties with China is simply opening the portal of our country from the vicious Narco-Trafficking , flooding the streets across the archipelago once again with SHABU at the expense of our younger people. This war against drugs therefore is a war that can never be won but more casualties from the poor Filipinos with their blood paving the path of constant misery. Don’t you fell the grief from the hearts of the poverty stricken crying mothers hugging the dead bodies of their loved ones ?
2) China is not a communist country Mr. President but a feudal capitalist society since it has been invoking Leninism ( one party control of the bureaucracy and the society) in tightening the Chinese Party’s control over the whole country to enrich the Party Members while most of the Chinese people are dying in hunger.
3)The bilateral trade pact with China signifies surrendering our territorial claims in the islands in the West Philippine Sea that are located within our Exclusive Economic Zone. Giving up our struggle to regain back our lost islands stolen by China is a very unpatriotic action. You are inculcating the Filipinos Mr. President of being unpatriotic which prevents every Filipino to possess sympathy with his fellow Filipinos. Our empathy is the main culprit for the prevalence of corruption because we never learned to struggle for the collective interest of our people but to serve individual’s selfishness. I really thought of you of fighting along with us in regaining back our lost islands but you ended up of betraying our own sovereignty. A society without patriotism Mr. President is a lifeless country without breathing in reaching a goal towards social progress. Remember that the Filipino fishermen are prohibited from fishing in our own territorial waters which is tantamount to a very painful slap on the face of our sovereignty. Soon China will exploit our Oil beneath those islands amounting to Trillion of dollars and our people will inherit nothing but misery. What would our next generation inherit if we allow China to abuse our marine resources?
4)Bilateral trade pact prevents us from reaching our goal of National Industrialization since our local markets will be flooded with manufactured goods from China while our dying local industries will finally be taken out of the business and more Filipinos will lose jobs that will push them into the brink of starvation. Our agricultural sector ( Agricultural Laborers and Poor Peasants) will suffer the worst blow since our local markets will be flooded with agricultural goods from China , the products of our poor farmers can’t compete with the cheaper Chinese vegetables and will be left decaying. It will aggravate poverty which consequently hasten urbanization due to mass emigration from the rural areas then there will be significant rise in crime incidence.
5)Allying our country with China signifies that our hard-earned triumph in the Permanent Arbitral Tribunal that awarded us our territorial rights in the islands in the West Philippine Sea will go all for naught. This alliance is the most effective tool of dividing our nation that will determine social revolt undermining the essence of peace. Thus, this will serve as an ignition that will spark another catastrophic global upheaval which will completely annihilate the human race and perhaps the closure of the book of human history.
