Poetry is an escape
Not something to negotiate
If it were ever to become second rate
I should hate
to be around on that date.

Through words
you can express
things that you would rather repress
But instead,
One could write,
and give those feelings an outlet.

The written word has power
Like songs are sung by musicians
Poetry is sung by the heart.

Feelings and emotions that arose
Turned into prose.
One should no longer be morose!
