Escape ...
Ephesians 4:17-18
The New Man
17 This I say, therefore, and testify in the Lord, that you should no longer walk as the rest of the Gentiles walk, in the futility of their mind, 18 having their understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God, because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart;
Escape from …
There is no escape from reality – this is a body of death
When emotions take over however and pride is at stake
It has a cunning ability to hide from me instead
It uses its disguise so clever to replace love with hate
All it takes is a point of view – truth then does not matter
It cries for justice where there’s none in the man-made world
Depravity jumps from the pew and forgets about the latter
And it won’t quit till what’s done even though the truth is curled
It’s ready to destroy what’s in the way
Its despise for others drips off the walls of hate
It doesn’t matter anymore or innocence gets slayed
as pride through others, there needs to be paid
Ugliness is well defined in human nature
I guess here pride resides never to be alone
Built on gratitude in love with its own failures
To exist in a never-land dried out to the bone
You came from who knows where as I perceived in time
Lifted above the known you are trying to fill your empty shell
Artificialness blossoms there where you get lost in rhyme
You couldn’t even see so far to notice the emptiness you felt
Food galore you couldn’t finish as it’s wasted on a tasteless desire
Love and live with self in hand and search for what you can’t attain
How will you ever replenish what you can’t see down the wire?
Just because you won’t understand as you fully depend on your brain
For goodness sake, you’re moving on like a tree left by the highway
Sipping slowly of an empty cup searching in a great array of words
Only noticed for a moment and then gone to lead others astray
Never noticed what’s up in a wasted life where pride is a first
