Enough
I am enough.
Despite what society tells me,
in terms of beauty and body and being,
I am enough.
Even though traditional values say my skin’s too dark,
my dreams too big,
and my submissiveness too nonexistent,
I am enough.
I am strong enough,
powerful enough,
willful enough,
determined enough,
intelligent enough,
blessed enough,
respectful enough,
realistic enough,
and willing enough
to be anything I’d like.
I think that, in life,
being “you” enough
is the best anyone can be.
