Enlightened
Out through the window once a night
An escape from the pains of everyday life
A time to let the imagination take flight
Place of peace, never of strife
An array of life uncovered before
To leave through the window is to see through different eyes
Things to be seen are difficult to ignore
Able to discover those in the underlies
Smell the sweetened air whistling past
Command here to do as I please
Desires and requests that are going to last
To move freely and feel at ease
All is different now; all is safe
The impossible to allow others in
Only I, no one may vouchsafe
As I continue on, the light begins to dim
As time slips away, as do I
It is not up to me when I may leave
To return would be devastating; to say goodbye
No freedom to remain as I please
Back through my window as I was
Eyes that flitter and twitch open to morning
Emerge enlightened
