Endless Innocent Love

Sun, 09/18/2016 - 17:44 -- AllieR

Though my days are ever dreary,

And my heart is ever weary,

I must open my eyes and face the day.

For, if I do not, I know I will remain forever gray.

At the start of my day, clocking in is the happiest I will ever be

Because I know after accepting little hugs and thrilled large voices await me.

It is not currency from this position I crave to obtain,

But the innocent, eternal love from the young ones I watch that I will gain.

Without this daily, pure love I am assured I cannot live.

Therefore, my only thought when I pry open my eyes is that, like they, I still have plently of love yet to give.
