An end to the search?

Is it not the empirical standard by which science draws breath from?

Isn’t this what separates those who want reality, and those who seek only beauty, self-delusion, and domination of one’s fellow human?

If yes then by what decree of the human spirit should we speculate so much, without any way of verifying?

Using mathematics, logic, and past observations are worthy tools of discovery for sure.

But they are to explain, and predict empirical insight into the universe.

Otherwise the simian’s brain might fall to error of assuming that the universe makes sense.

A hubris worthy of contempt.

I love em but I don’t know where to stand.

To the optimists who think that by mere brain power, and our current sight we can piece together the universe?

Or to the cynic who says “We were done a long time ago, it is too costly to continue experimentation in the fundamentals, and besides there is a physical limit to how far we can break down the universe It is hopeless baring a breakthrough of an unprecedented nature”.

Is it true that in order to fulfill my dream, I must do it as a dreamer and not as an awaken animal?

Like the atomists of yore who could only speculate, and had very limited evidence to work off.

Is the study of the small destined to be limited to just speculation, and conjecture in its final years?

Back to its start?

And what of the other fields of science?. At some point they are all going to stop expanding, not because we run out of things to learn, but rather things that we can learn due to lack of observations, and mental power.

Is the nobel search doomed to one day be extinct while the clever animal continues to just fill in minor blanks?
