Ellie's Angel

Once upon a time in a land far away,

Where day was night,

And night was day.

Where birds would walk,

And mammals fly,

Where anyone down here could

touch the sky.

There was an angel,

Her soul golden,

But oh! Her wings were broken,

Broken.

Every night and everyday,

She’d cry and cry and cry

In pain.

And people didn’t see,

as they walked by,

That all she wanted,

Was the sky.

And there she lied,

Pale and battered,

Almost sure,

Her heart was shattered.

Until one day,

A boy walked by,

And gave the angel,

Back her sky.

He gave her love,

Took her pain,

And let the angel,

Love again.

When night was day,

And day was night,

The angel took the boy,

On a flight.

They soared through windows,

Opened doors,

Saw sad lives,

And plenty more.

They shared love,

And their souls that night,

During the angel’s,

Lovely flight.

After this in that land far away,

Where day was night,

And night was day,

Many people,

Young and old,

Have hearts of silver,

Souls of gold.
