Eleven Years Later

We don't know

How far

The ripples of our decisions go

We don't know

How far

The ripples of one moment go

So we don't know

What would differ

If we changed that moment

That decision

No one can tell me

Nor can I imagine

How I would be different

If you were still here

Because you left

Didn't say goodbye,

Couldn't actually

Didn't know where

You were going

And I

Didn't understand

What it meant

When they told me

You weren't coming back

You couldn't come back

No one returns

From where you had gone

Would life have been different?

If you were still around?

Who would I be

if you were here?

We will never know

All I do know

Is that

Your death

Is now

A part

Of

Me.
