Elegy for a Victim

Beautiful days can turn disastrous with one decision
Smiles become screams of horror
Happiness metamorphosizes into terror

Our life was shattered
We were torn apart by one bullet
One shooter
One act of desperation, a cry for help

Today, the sky is black
The angels weep for you, for us
For our love, murdered by silver

My hope was in you
Now it lies with you, six feet in the ground
You, my love, were forced to leave us
To vanish
Whisking hope away
