Echoing Tears and Strange Sounds - In Memory of Jordan Davis, another victim of modern-day, societal lynchings

Location

Southern mobiles bear a strange sound,

Blood on the seats, and blood on the ground,

Black boys, slumped over the backseat window,

Strange sounds looming, create far away echoes

Nightly scene, in the egregious south

Stagnant eyes, a scattered mouth

The sound of music, a dissonant death

Another seventeen-year-old son with a hole in his chest

Here is a song for the choir to sing

Pallbearers to gather, a coffin they bring

Into the ground they drop, a body that fought,

Strange sounds looming, the song never stops
