Easily Misled
There was a point in time where a society assumed I'd amount to nothing.
So I totaled the change in my wallet and pulled out my watch that's shining.
And a light that's blinding. But not the kind you see. This light was from
the most intelligent part of me, My mind. As an African-American Male,
It's assumed by people there is no light. No idea of greatest. No pursuit of perfection.
Most of us. Well as statistics show, all we know is prison. All we know
is the color of a wall. White or gray. Gray is the ambiguity of what was
rather than what is. We have faced hardships as a people, as a society
But in reality, we can be on the uprising. A change of mind would mean
a different kind of time that no America would expect to find.
As a young black Male, I can safely say, if we use our wit and
everything that comes with it. We wouldn't be behind bars or sitting
on death row because it's the norm for us to be apart of these consequences.
Rather, the story, and the suspense is. We can succeed. If our minds were combined
together, to form a greatness, another form of light. An idea that is unstoppable.
An impenetrable state of mind would be recognized. We will be hated on,
that's how the world goes. We'd be a society where greatness is everywhere,
and America would know. It's hard to explain times now.
I escaped early, not from prison, rather from the prejudices and bias against me.
There was a point in time, where there was only black and white. But as America
progresses, the colors seem to be more misleading and unclear in meaning.
