Early morn ...

Ecclesiastes 9:7

Life is Brief, so Cherish its Joys

Go, eat your food with joy,
and drink your wine with a happy heart,
because God has already approved your works.

Early morn

Semi-sweet on the tongue – dark chocolate came along

Penetration of good taste – now some coffee or latté

Life’s great at this time – satisfaction seems all mine

Desire and want still asleep – tranquility for now to keep

The day somewhere still away – darkness rules here to stay

Nightmares and dreams perplexed – humanity’s only text

Later on words will fly – hanging most out to dry

Turmoil will rule and prey – the weak and helpless away

Chickens’ sacrifice the best – dropping eggs in a nest

One day dropping be done – so their necks will be wrung

A sacrifice for some tummy – their tenders taste so yummy

So life and death walk as one - from egg to chick to frying pan
